Dingmans Falls Trail           about 1/2 mile

From Rt.739 follow Rt.209 South for about 1/4 mile, turn right at Johnny Bee
Rd. and follow a scenic road to the Dingmans Visitor Center. When open the
visitor Center is a good opportunity to see exhibits and ask questions

The trail here is a clearly defined platform with railings that should
accommodate anyone. There is Silverthread Falls, a narrow but very high
waterfall early on the trail and then a beautiful walk through a hemlock forest
with Rododendras surrounding the trail. At the end of the lower trail is
Dingmans Falls, offering an impressive view from a long platform.

For those who are more athletic and adventurous there is a staircase trail to
the top of the falls that offers a great view of the falls from the top.

This is a great hike for the novice or someone who has limited time. A good
time to visit would be Spring when the Rododendras bloom
